A picture that was taken on the Pacific atoll of Nikumaroro, formerly Gardner Island, three months after Earhart went missing displays what looks like landing gear.

Queen Elizabeth stuns bride and groom by accepting invite

27 Mar

A bride and groom were stunned when the Queen of England made an appearance at their wedding.

After hearing that the queen would be in town the day of their wedding, John and Frances Canning sent her an invite more or less as a joke. Surprisingly, she showed up.

“Basically it was a wedding gift for us,” Frances Canning told CNN affiliate ITN.

The queen is making appearances all over England this spring to celebrate 60 years of being on the throne, a time known as “Diamond Jubilee.”
