Nighttime racing at TMS means new challenges for commuters

5 Apr

The races are back this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
This means there is going to be a huge amount of traffic. But instead of the races being on Saturday and Sunday afternoons like usual, they have been moved to Friday and Saturday night at 5:30 pm. TMS attendence on Saturday night will double the amount of people that were at the Superbowl, said TMS precident Eddie Gossage. But after 15 years of TMS experience, police feel like they have figured out several solutions to the traffic issues.
“Last race we got exactly zero pieces of mail, e-mail, etc., from fans complaining about traffic,” he said.
They aren’t saying that there won’t be traffic, but if everyone cooperates with the police directing traffic it should flow as planned.
